Feyenoord vs Twente 16/08/20
16 August 2020
Feyenoord and Twente continue their preparations ahead of the new season as they meet in a friendly at De Kuip this weekend.
Feyenoord have started their off-season campaign with a convincing 3-0 triumph over fellow Eredivisie outfit Sparta Rotterdam, with all of those goals coming before the 25-minute mark. They now take the field after putting together 11 matches without a loss (W9, D2), eight of which saw them score over 1.5 goals. Notably, while six of those nine triumphs witnessed Feyenoord net at least three goals, five produced a full-time margin of over 1.5 goals. ‘De club aan de Maas’ are huge pre-match favorites here, having won all eight of their previous H2H meetings, seven via at least a two-goal margin.
Meanwhile, Twente have won both of their summer friendlies over Excelsior 31 and Fortuna Sittar respectively, with each yielding the identical 2-1 second-half scoreline. That represents a notable upturn in form compared to a dreadful finish to the last season that saw them lose three matches in a row. Yet, the ‘Tukkers’ have been an exciting team to watch lately, as four of their previous five games have seen over 2.5 goals and both sides on the scoresheet. Interestingly, the vast majority (87.5%) of the goals scored/conceded during that five-game sequence arrived in the second half of play (14/16).
