Daegu FC vs Incheon United 16/08/20
16 August 2020
Daegu FC welcome basement boys Incheon United to the Daegu Stadium, looking to extend an undefeated run in their K League 1 H2Hs to six (W3, D2).
A 2-0 home defeat to Jeonbuk last time out now means the hosts have not played out a draw in K League 1 eight times in a row (W5, L3). While the previous four results (wins/losses) all witnessed the winner on the day keep a clean sheet, the preceding four each saw over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. In turn, each of their last three top-flight H2Hs held at this venue has yielded the identical 2-1 scoreline at FT (W2, L1). Also, free-scoring Daegu have found the net in seven of their previous eight league home outings (W3, D2, L2), scoring over 1.5 goals on four of those occasions.
Dead-last Incheon enter this round as the only team in South Korea’s top-tier yet to pick up a win and are also the only side yet to smash a 10-point barrier (D5, L10). A genuine lack of firepower up front has seen Incheon net under 1.5 goals in all 15 of their league fixtures so far this term, managing a miserable average of 0.53 goals scored per K League 1 match. Although the ‘Mariners’ drew a blank in four of seven league trips this season, all three of their top-flight goals scored away from home arrived in the last four applicable games. It’s, therefore, not strange that they’ve lost all five of their away K League 1 clashes in which they conceded the opening goal.
