Inspired by an outstanding 3-1 road victory over Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers will welcome Crystal Palace to the Molineux Stadium hoping to wrap up all three points in their first Premier League game in 2019.

Unbeaten in their last two league outings (W1, D1), Wolves currently sit seventh in the table with a nine-point deficit to the European promotion zone. Still, their indifferent home form (W4, D2, L4) could be a problem, especially considering the Wanderers lost three out of their last five home meetings although securing two wins during that period. A potential problem for Nuno Espirito Santo could be that his players failed to keep a clean sheet in five out of the previous six home games, conceding at a minimum of two goals per match four times in the process. Five out of last seven Wolverhampton’s home encounters ended with the identical 2-0 scoreline, with the returnees winning two of those clashes.

Meanwhile, the visitors come into this meeting after a 1-0 home loss to Chelsea which was their third defeat in the previous six Premier League games. What’s more it was the second successive encounter in which the Eagles have failed to hit the back of the net. Also, the Glaziers have lost five out of their last seven road matches, conceding at least two goals in each. However, Roy Hodgson’s men have achieved an unexpected 3-2 win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium that has brought their six-game road winless streak to an end. Still, the recent Crystal Palace away meetings have been entertaining for the neutral, with four out of their last five road clashes producing over 3.5 goals.
