Watford vs Liverpool 24/11/18

24 November 2018

Watford will host Liverpool at the Vicarage Road, hoping to end a 5-game winless streak against the Reds.

The Hornets have lost four out of the past five games against their upcoming opponents. Moreover, the international break has come just in time for Javi Gracia’s players, as they’ve lost 1-0 to Newcastle at home before being held to a 1-1 draw to Southampton on the road. After a wonderous start of the season, which has seen them winning four Premier League games in a row, the Golden Boys have failed to maintain the same form in the following period. Not only they’ve managed just two clean sheets in the previous eight Premier League clashes, but they’ve also struggled to find the back of the net three times during the run. Having bagged 17 goals so far, Watford scored an average of 1.42 goals per match while they’ve conceded 14 goals at an average of 1.17 goals per game.

Meanwhile, the visitors are one of three teams along with Manchester City and Chelsea that are yet to lose a battle in the English top flight. With a record of nine wins and three draws, the Merseysiders currently trail the Citizens by two points. Moreover, in the last five EPL clashes, Jurgen Klopp’s players have wrapped up three victories, while being held to two draws to City and Arsenal. Salah and his fellow club teammates have bagged 23 goals in the opening 12 league matches, scoring an average of 1.92 goals per game. On the other hand, the Reds have seven clean sheets in the Premier League this season, which is their main strength as they are yet to concede more than one goal in all of their 12 encounters.
