Vorskla Poltava vs Arsenal 30/11/18
30 November 2018
Vorskla Poltava welcome Arsenal to the Oleksiy Butovsky Vorskla Stadium in the Europa League Group E looking to end a 3-game losing streak across all competitions.
The hosts have lost their last European clash to Qarabag at home, after which they were beaten twice in the Ukranian Premier League, without scoring a single goal in the run. Apart from a narrow 1-0 win in Azerbaijan over Qarabag, the Green-Whites have lost all of their remaining three Europa League encounters, including the one to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, which has seen them concede four goals while bagging two in the process. Vasyl Sachko’s men have failed to keep a clean sheet five times in their last six competitive matches although they have only allowed more than one goal once during the run. With two games left to play in the group stage, Vorskla have minimal chances of closing the gap on Sporting, as they need to clinch a pair of wins against both Arsenal and the Portuguese side.
Meanwhile, the visitors are looking to extend an impressive 17-game unbeaten run across all competitions although they have already secured their place in the round of 16. The Gunners are the only team in their respective group that is yet to suffer a failure, having wrapped up three straight triumphs before being held to a scoreless away draw to Sporting Lisbon last time out. Last weekend’s 2-1 road victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League has brought Arsenal’s three-game winless streak to an end, as Unai Emery hopes to see his players starting a new winning run. The north London outfit failed to keep a clean sheet seven times in their previous nine competitive games, but they have bagged a minimum of one goal eight times in the process.
