Valencia vs Alaves 17/03/18
17 March 2018
Valencia will host Deportivo Alaves following another impressive victory, against Sevilla at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan thanks to inspiring performances from Rodrigo Moreno who scored two goals. The Bats have won four out of their previous five games at Mestalla scoring ten goals in the process, and they intend to maintain a good form and enhance their chances of securing the Champions League promotion spot. Alaves have lost five times in their last six away matches, and they’ve only managed to keep a clean sheet once in thirteen consecutive encounters on the road. After a slow start, the Babazorros have stepped up their game, and it seems they have already secured another season in La Liga, as they have eleven points lead over the relegation fighters, Las Palmas. Two sides have already faced each other this season in Copa del Rey, as Valencia have knocked Abelardo’s side out of the competition.
Injuries suffered by Andreas Pereira and Santi Mina have given Marcelino García Toral a sizeable headache. As for the visitors, Hector Hernandez who hasn’t played a single minute this year is still out due to a malleolar injury, while Carlos Vigaray might recover after picking up a slight knee fracture on the training ground.
