Ulsan Hyundai vs Seongnam 13/06/20

13 June 2020

The most prolific team in the K League 1 2020/21 season and the league’s joint-best defense will lock horns at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium, as Ulsan Hyundai take on Seongnam.

Unbeaten after the opening five league fixtures (W3, D2), the hosts have fired in 13 goals already, which makes them the best attacking side in the Korean top-flight. Interestingly, while both of their K League 1 draws this season produced the identical 1-1 scoreline, the ‘Ulsan Tigers’ have bagged over 1.5 second-half goals and over 2.5 in total in each of their three successes so far. However, going back to November 2019, Kim Do-hoon’s men have won only once of their last five home fixtures in all competitions (D3, L1), scoring precisely one goal per match on four of those occasions.

As for the visitors, a 2-1 home defeat to Daegu last time out has brought their unbeaten league start to a halt (W2, D2), as they trail table-toppers Jeonbuk Motors by four points ahead of the kick-off. Before suffering the aforementioned loss, the ‘Seongnam Magpies’ have shipped just one league goal, as they remain K League 1’s joint-best defensive team. In turn, Seongnam’s air-tight defense has conceded only one goal in their five previous top-flight road trips, last season included. Not particularly an exciting team to watch away from home, nine of Seongnam’s last ten K League 1 away matches have featured under 2.5 goals.
