Turkey vs Uzbekistan 03/06/19

3 June 2019

Turkey welcomes Uzbekistan to the Antalya Atatürk Stadyumu for an international friendly looking to post their fourth straight victory.

The hosts come into this meeting off the back of a 2-1 home win over Greece a few days ago, which was the third consecutive match in which they’ve scored over 1.5 goals. Notably improved at the back, the Crescent-Stars have kept three clean sheets before the aforementioned clash. Moreover, Şenol Güneş’s players have netted 2+ match goals in three successive outings after failing to find the net in four straight games, which seems to be their most significant improvement in the recent period. If Turkey wins here, it will probably see them bag over 1.5 goals, considering that all five of their triumphs in the past 12 months have seen them score at least two goals per match.

Meanwhile, the visitors’ narrow 1-0 win over China last time out has helped them snap a three-game losing streak. Uzbekistan’s main problem here could be their mediocre performance in the final third lately, as they’ve failed to find the net in four of their last eight games, scoring 2+ match goals only twice in the process. Still, five of those games produced over 2.5 goals, although just two of them have seen both teams score. Interestingly, four of White Wolves’ five wins in the past nine months have been accompanied by a clean sheet, with Héctor Cúper’s men scoring over 1.5 match goals on four occasions too.
