Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace 14/09/19

14 September 2019

Tottenham Hotspur will look to snap their three-game Premier League (PL) winless run when they take on Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.

It has so far been a disappointing league campaign for the hosts, who have pulled off just one win in the opening four rounds of the PL fixtures (W1, D2, L1). Interestingly, none of those games have seen Tottenham score the opener, and all have witnessed them concede at least one goal in the first half. Also, both of their PL home games this term have seen them lose by the identical 1-0 halftime scoreline, with the Spurs bouncing back in the second half once (W1, L1). For Tottenham, goals have been in short supply when at home lately, as three of their last five PL games here ended with the same 1-0 scoreline (W2, D1, L2).

As for the visitors, they’ve won both of their PL games ahead of the international break, both by a narrow one-goal margin. Stubborn at the back and unprolific in the final third, the Eagles have struggled to provide their fans with entertainment this term, as three of their four PL matches featured under 1.5 goals. However, they’ve clinched four wins in their last five PL trips (W4, L1), with three of those triumphs seeing them score two or more goals and concede at least one. Backed by a solid run of form, they will now try to bring Tottenham’s four-game winning streak in home H2Hs to a halt, also chasing their first PL away goal against the Spurs since 2004.
