Tottenham Hotspur vs AC Milan 01/08/18
1 August 2018
At the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan will be facing off against each other after both teams lost their previous encounters on penalties, with the Spurs lost to Barcelona after the game ended in a 2-2 draw, while Manchester United defeat the Rossoneri after a 1-1 tie in the regular 90 minutes. In addition to that game against the Blaugrana, the London side featured in one more match at this summer’s International Champions Cup, recording a stunning 4-1 victory over AS Roma although the Italian heavyweights took the lead already in the third minute. Despite the absence of Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino’s team showed great football in both of their warm-up matches, as they are looking to maintain a good form against the struggling Milanese giants. Gennaro Gattuso’s side have achieved a routine 2-0 triumph over Novara before making their trip to the United States where they failed to impress in the opening match against the Red Devils who dominated the game for the most time eventually grabbing a deserved victory on penalties.
Tottenham will be without Moussa Sissoko, Wanyama, and Erik Lamela, as all of them suffered injuries that forced them to return to London earlier than expected. On the other hand, AC Milan will be looking for their first win over the Premier League side without Lucas Biglia and Andrea Conti, while Alen Halilovic might get the opportunity to make his debut for the famous club after arriving from Hamburger SV earlier in the summer.
