Torino vs Parma 21/06/20

21 June 2020

Torino and Parma will lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino, as the home side hope to snap a three-game winless run in their league H2Hs (D1, L2).

The hosts were suffering a dismal six-game losing league run before the coronavirus pandemic curtailed their misery, as they enter this round harboring a two-point lead over relegation-threatened Lecce. Torino’s disappointing performances during the abovementioned run have seen them score under 1.5 goals in each of those six defeats while conceding at least two per match in five. At home in Serie A (SA), the Maroons have suffered five losses in their last seven league games (W2), with four of those results (win/loss) yielding a single-goal margin. In turn, nine of Torino’s 12 SA home games this term ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals.

Meanwhile, the visitors had endured mixed fortunes in their last seven league matches before the pandemic gripped football (W3, D1, L3), with five of those six results in that period producing a single-goal margin and the last three yielding the identical 1-0 scoreline. The Crusaders often tend to produce tight contests when they play away from home. In fact, nine of their 12 SA road trips ended separating the teams by a final margin of under 1.5 goals. But, slow away starts have seen Parma concede the opening goal in seven of 12 league away games, although they managed to return five points from such fixtures (W1, D2, L4).
