SV Rodinghausen vs Bayern Munich 31/10/18
31 October 2018
After a narrow 1-0 triumph over Drochtersen/Assel, Bayern Munich will be heading towards North Rhine-Westphalia to face-off against SV Rodinghausen in the DFB Pokal round of 32.
Currently competing in the German Regionalliga West, the hosts stand virtually no chance against the reigning Bundesliga champions, especially considering the fact they’ve been struggling at home in their rank. Mario Ermisch’s players have only won one out of the previous five matches in front of the home supporters, having lost twice in the process. Moreover, Rodinghausen failed to keep a clean sheet three times in the past four league meetings, having conceded a total of seven goals during that period.
On the other hand, the Bavarians have notably raised their game after the international break, having achieved three straight victories, including the one over AEK Athens in the Champions League. However, the Reds’ defensive problems are mounting, as they’ve only kept a clean sheet once in the last seven encounters across all competitions. Meanwhile, it seems Niko Kovac has finally dragged his team out of a crisis, considering Bayern started scoring on a regular basis again. In all three triumphs after the international break, the defending Bundesliga champions have notched at least two goals. Still, apart from a 2-0 loss to Hertha, Bayern have been outstanding on the road this year, having clinched all wins in the remaining eight away clashes.
