Stoke City vs Manchester City 13/03/18
13 March 2018
With only one victory in the previous ten Premier League matches, Stoke City are struggling to escape the danger zone and hosting the best club in the UK, Manchester City, won’t make it any easier for the Paul Lamberts’ side. The Potters are in serious crisis, as they’ve only won two out of their last six games at home, losing two times against direct relegation competitors, West Ham and Newcastle United. Considering that the Magpies and Southampton are facing each other, anything but a defeat would do for the red-whites. But, the Citizens are looking to extend their lead over Manchester United, and after an unexpected loss to Basel at the Etihad Stadium, they are motivated to get back on winning track. Pep Guardiola’s team has had some troubles on the road over the past couple of months, winning only two out of their last five matches away from Manchester, but after two consecutive wins over big rivals, Chelsea and Arsenal, they seem to have overcome troubles.
The experienced goalkeeper, Lee Grant, and the former City player, Stephen Ireland, are ruled out because of injuries for the home side, while the visitors are going to play without Benjamin Mendy, Fernandinho, and Raheem Sterling.
