Spain vs Tunisia 10/06/18
10 June 2018
At the Krasnodar Stadium in Krasnodar, Russia; Spain and Tunisia will play an international friendly match as a final part of their preparations ahead of the World Cup, with the Red Fury looking to extend their impressive 19-game lossless streak. However, Julen Lopetegui’s team failed to achieve a win in three out of their last five matches, drawing with Russia, Germany, and Switzerland in the process. The same goes for the Eagles of Carthage who won two out of last five games, defeating Iran and Costa Rica, along the way, both by a narrow 1-goal margin. Both sides are undefeated this year, with Spain’s latest defeat dates back to EURO 2016 and that 2-0 loss to Italy, while Tunisia last time disappointed against Morocco back in March 2017.
After a 3-1 Spain’s victory back in 2006 at the World Cup in Germany, it will be the second time in history these two nations face off each other.
After remaining on the bench for the entire 90 minutes against the Nati, Sergio Busquets might start the game from the first minute, as well as Sergio Ramos, who rejoined the squad after playing the Champions League final with Real Madrid. As for Tunisia, Nabil Maâloul might look to introduce Leicester City’s Yohan Benalouane back to the starting line-up after leaving him on the sidelines in a 2-2 draw with Turkey.
