Spain vs Sweden 11/06/19

11 June 2019

Spain welcome Sweden to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu for their top of Group F clash at European qualifiers.

Determined to restore their reputation after a disappointing UEFA Nations League campaign, the hosts have secured three straight triumphs at the beginning of Euro 2020 qualifications. All three of those wins have seen them score 2+ match goals and restrict their opponents to a maximum of one goal per match, as they currently top Group F. The Red Fury tend to kill the game off already in the first half. Luis Enrique’s men have taken the lead inside the opening 15 minutes of the game in two of their last three outings while leading at the halftime break in all three. Interestingly, all three of their competitive home games after the World Cup exit have produced over 2.5 goals, with two of them seeing both teams score.

Meanwhile, the visitors’ strong start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign has seen them pick up two wins in their opening three outings (W2, D1), with the Blue and Yellow scoring over 1.5 match goals in each. Lethal in the final third but fragile at the back, Janne Andersson’s players have entertained their fans in the recent period, with all four of their last games producing over 2.5 goals, while three of them saw both teams score. Still, Sweden’s indifferent road form since the World Cup exit could worry the traveling side, with Blågult securing just one triumph on their last four road trips (W1, D2, L1).
