South Korea vs Mexico 23/06/18
23 June 2018
After a stunning 1-0 win over Germany, Mexico will play against South Korea at the Rostov Arena, looking for a positive outcome that will bring them one step closer to the round of 16 and the repetition of the same success they had achieved four years ago in Brazil. El Tri displayed compactness and sacrifice against one of the principal candidates to win the World Cup trophy, eventually walking away with all three points thanks to Hirving Lozano first-half goal. On the other hand, the Taegeuk Warriors featured in the most “violent” game of the tournament so far, as the referee Joel Aguilar had to award as many as 43 fouls, as well as, one penalty, that ultimately decided the match in favor of Sweden. Shin Tae-Yong has to come up with something special if looking to improve his side’s performance against the stalwart Mexican team, as South Korea didn’t have a single clear-cut opportunity against the Blue-Yellow, failing to even produce one shot on target for the entire 90 minutes.
Juan Carlos Osorio will probably field the same starting eleven that started the match against Die Mannschaft, while Seung-Woo Lee should be the one to replace Ja-Cheol Koo in the middle of the park, as Augsburg star failed to impress against Sweden.
