Senegal vs South Korea 12/06/18

12 June 2018

At the Untersberg-Arena in Grodig, Austria; Senegal and South Korea will play the last preparation game before making their trip to the World Cup in Russia. Both teams were pretty dominant in their respective qualifying groups, comfortably securing the appearance at the biggest international football scene on the planet. However, both sides are experiencing a difficult time in 2018, with Les Lions de la Téranga failed to win a match this year, playing out three consecutive draws, with Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Luxemburg, before losing 2-1 to Croatia last weekend. On the other hand, the Taegeuk Warriors lost three out of five previous international friendlies, only managing to defeat Honduras in the process. The last time South Korea faced off one African team was back last year when Morocco defeated them by three goals to one.

Senegal and South Korea had never met each other at the big tournament, but it will be their third friendly encounter, first since 2009, when the Asian team secured a comfortable 2-0 victory.

After leaving Son Heung-Min and Koo Ja-Cheol on the bench against Bolivia, Shin Tae-Yong might look to field his best starting eleven, while Aliou Cisséshould be happy to see Sadio Mane rejoining his squad after an extended breather.
