Schalke 04 and Alanyaspor go head-to-head at the Waldstadion Mittersill for a friendly meeting that sees the Germans trying to snap a four-game winless run (D2, L2).

Although the Miners started their preparations off on the right foot, securing two comfortable triumphs over the German lower-league sides, their drop-off in form has seen them struggle in their last four outings. All of those games have seen both teams score, with Schalke conceding two or more goals per match on three occasions in the process. Interestingly, five of Schalke’s six games this pre-season have witnessed goals at both ends in the second half. Also, five of the Royal Blue’s last ten games have ended in a draw, with four of those stalemates featuring under 2.5 goals.

Meanwhile, it will be Alanya’s fifth game this summer, with the Turkish side enduring mixed fortunes so far (W2, D1, L1). While they’ve managed to keep a clean sheet in their last three outings, Erol Bulut’s men have conceded four goals in their first summer friendly, suffering a 4-1 loss to the German lower-league outfit Chemnitzer. Just four of Alanya’s last 12 games have produced over 2.5 goals, although seven have seen both teams score. Also, they have pulled off just four triumphs across the same period (W4, D5, L3), with three of those wins ending with the same 1-0 scoreline.
