Sampdoria vs SPAL 02/10/18
02 October 2018
The encounter between Sampdoria and SPAL that shall take place at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris will see the visitors trying to end a 2-game road losing streak.
Although the Blucerchiati won their opening home game in the Italian Serie A, beating the last season’s runners-up Napoli by three goals to nil, they’ve struggled to repeat the similar performance in the next two clashes, playing out a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina, while losing 1-0 to Inter Milan. La Samp boss Marco Giampaolo urges his players to lift up the tempo and end a 3-game winless streak, as Sampdoria’s last victory came against Frosinone where they’ve demolished the returnees 5-0 on the road.
On the other hand, Gli Spallini who opened the season with two straight triumphs, over Bologna and Parma, both by a narrow 1-goal margin, failed to hold resolute Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, eventually losing by a goal to nil. Despite an encouraging 2-0 victory over Atalanta at home, it seems the Biancazzurri are losing the pace, as they’ve lost the last two Serie A matches, to Fiorentina and Sassuolo, without scoring a goal.
Gianluca Caprari, Vasco Regini, and Riccardo Saponara are struggling with injuries, while Dawid Kownacki may be fit for the hosts. Meanwhile, Federico Viviani and Jasmin Kurtic will probably skip a trip to Genoa due to some physical problems.
