Real Madrid vs Valencia 19/06/20

19 June 2020

Real Madrid and Valencia will lock horns in a massive La Liga (LL) showdown at the Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium this midweek.

A 3-1 home triumph over Eibar at the weekend now means that none of Real Madrid’s last four league matches ended in a draw (W2, L2), with each of those results (win/loss) seeing the winner on the day open the scoring. Quick-start Los Blancos have scored the opening goal (if any) in ten of 14 LL home fixtures this season (71%), winning nine such games (D1). Moreover, Zinedine Zidane’s men have yet to taste defeat at home this term (W10, D4), with seven of those ten successes yielding at least a two-goal margin. Real are likely to maintain their impressive home form, as they’ve not lost to Valencia in 11 consecutive LL home H2Hs (W6, D5).

Meanwhile, the visitors head to the capital on a run of three successive league matches without a loss (W1, D2), with each of those games seeing both teams on the scoresheet. However, poor away performers, Los Ches, have failed to pick up a victory in their last five LL road trips (D2, L3), conceding over 2.5 goals in each of those three defeats. Also, Albert Celades’ players have shipped the opening goal in nine of 14 LL away games this term (69.23%), although they managed to return eight points from such fixtures (W2, D2, L5).
