Real Madrid vs Espanyol 23/09/18

After dropping two points against Athletic Bilbao in the Basque Country last weekend, Real Madrid will be looking to instantly return to winning ways, as they prepare to host Espanyol at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancosare currently trailing Barcelona thanks to a 1-1 draw with Los Leones, but before that, Julen Lopetegui’s side crashed Getafe, Girona, and Leganes, scoring ten goals in the process. Additionally, an outstanding performance against AS Roma in the Champions League, and a 3-0 win on the opening matchday certainly boost the confidence in the dressing room, and Los Merengues are expected to shine this weekend in front of the home supporters.

In the meantime, the Periquitos have opened the season with a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo on the road, after which after which they secured two wins at home by defeating Valencia and Levante. However, they are yet to win a match away from the RCDE Stadium, as the Blanquiazules got swept aside by Deportivo Alaves at the Estadio Mendizorrotza.

Jesus Vallejo is still trying to overcome his physical problems and will have to remain on the stands, as he is yet to make his debut for Real Madrid this season. On the other hand, Oscar Duarte and Javier Puado Diaz won’t be playing for the visitors after picking up leg injuries.
