Real Madrid vs Deportivo Alaves 04/02/19

04 February 2019

A rising Real Madrid team welcome an out-of-form Deportivo Alaves to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu looking to post the fourth consecutive La Liga victory.

Los Blancos put a four-game winning run across all competitions on the line against unpredictable visitors, searching a positive outcome ahead of El Clasico. Seem to have finally managed to take down a barrier in the final third, Los Blancos have scored 13 goals in their last four competitive outings, bagging over 2.5 goals per match three times in the sequence. However, although they’ve won seven of ten La Liga home clashes (W7, D1, L2), Los Merengues have scored over 1.5 goals per match on just five occasions, failing to hit the net twice in the process. On the other hand, no team has conceded fewer goals at home than Real Madrid (5) this term, with Santiago Solari’s players keeping a clean sheet seven times so far.

Winless in their last three La Liga fixtures (D1, L2), arrive at Santiago Bernabeu in a period of a severe crisis. The visitors have won just two of their previous ten competitive games, suffering five defeats in the process (W2, D3, L5). In that period, the Babazorros have bagged only six goals, while failed to find the back of the net five times. Although won four of 11 LL road games, Abelardo’s men have lost six, losing to nil in four. Toothless in the final third, El Glorioso have scored over 1.5 goals per match on just one LL road trip this campaign, which is the joint-worst record in the Spanish top tier. Three of Alaves’ four away triumphs have come against teams from the bottom half of the table, while they’ve lost on both road trips to top-four sides.
