RB Leipzig vs Hertha Berlin 31/03/19

31 March 2019

RB Leipzig and Hertha Berlin go head-to-head at the Red Bull Arena as the Red Bulls look to post their elusive first Bundesliga home win in 2019.

Sitting third in the table, the hosts have a three-three point lead over fifth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt and have to make something out of this clash. The Red Bulls have been one of the most successful home teams in the Bundesliga for the majority of the season but have struggled to maintain the same rhythm in the recent period. Ralf Rangnick’s men have failed to wrap up all three points in all four of their previous BL home outings, having played out three straight draws ahead of this round (D3, L1). All four of those clashes have produced under 2.5 goals, with two of them ending with the identical 0-0 scoreline.

Meanwhile, the visitors have lost both of their last two BL fixtures before the international break, allowing over 1.5 goals per match in each. A poor run of form has seen Hertha secured just one triumph in their previous five BL games (W1, D1, L3). What’s more, Die Alte Dame have suffered four defeats on their last six BL road trips (W2, L4), scoring one goal or less in each failure. But, interestingly, four of Hertha’s five BL road wins have seen them beating their rivals to nil while netting 2+ match goals every time.

Interestingly, all four of their previous H2H meetings have produced over 2.5 goals, with three of them ending with a minimum of five goals.
