Rayo Vallecano vs Sevilla 20/08/18

Rayo Vallecano have rejoined Spanish elite clubs after finishing top of La Liga 2 table, as they are looking to start new La Liga journey in front of the home crowd against the Andalusian giants Sevilla. Los Franjirrojos showed the most of all clubs in the Spanish Segunda last season, leading the table for the majority of the campaign, after which they five friendly matches preparing for the challenges that follow. However, Míchel’s team suffered three consecutive defeats, to Belenenses, Valladolid, and Leganes following two wins, over Bristol City and Real Madrid B, in the opening phase of preparations. Meanwhile, Los Hispalenses have already featured in four competitive matches this summer, as they have eliminated Ujpestin the Europa League qualifications by 7-1 on aggregate, while they struggled against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup, losing 2-1 to the Catalan giants. Apart from that, Pablo Machín’s team also faced off against Zalgiris in the Europa League playoffs achieving a narrow 1-0 triumph at home.

Santi Comesaña will be the only missing player in the home squad due to a suspension. As for the visitors, all key players are fit and ready for the trip to the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas.
