Rayo Vallecano vs Levante 24/12/18

24 December 2018

Weekend’s La Liga action concludes at Campo de Futbol de Vallecas in Madrid where a struggling Rayo Vallecano side welcome Levante.

The hosts have won the last three home meetings between the sides, as Michel hopes a positive record against Levante could help his team to end a three-game losing streak. Rooted deep inside the relegation zone, the Red Sashes have lost ten out of their opening 16 La Liga outings, which is the joint-worst record in the Spanish top flight this term. Having secured just two victories in the league so far, Los Vallecanos failed to wrap up all three points twelve times in their last 13 matches. Furthermore, only Huesca (32) have allowed more goals than Rayo Vallecano (31) this campaign, with Michel’s players struggling to keep a clean sheet 14 times ahead of this fixture.

On the other hand, although the visitors suffered just two defeats in their previous 12 games across all competitions, they’ve struggled to achieve a victory five times in their last six La Liga clashes. What’s more, Paco López’s men have failed to win on their past three La Liga road trips, playing out three straight draws, including a 4-4 tie with Eibar last time out. However, Levante boss hopes to see his players stretching a five-game unbeaten road run in the Spanish top-tier competition. The Granotas main problem over the past five league matches concerns their poor defensive performance that has seen them keeping one clean sheet while conceding a minimum of three goals per match three times in the process.
