Porto vs Real Betis 20/07/19

20 July 2019

Porto come face-to-face with Real Betis at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão for a friendly fixture.

The Portuguese giants have edged out Fulham 1-0 in their first friendly this summer, but facing Betis will be their first serious test in pre-season. Interestingly, six of Porto’s last seven wins have seen them beat their opponents to nil while four of them saw the Dragons score over 1.5 goals per match. Also, a free-scoring Porto side has found the net in nine straight outings, bagging 2+ match goals five times along the way. Also, Sérgio Conceição’s players have restricted their rivals to a maximum of one goal per game in six of their previous seven matches, conceding in the first half only once across that period.

On the other hand, the La Liga outfit already held two warm-up games this summer. Los Verdiblancos have hammered the MLS franchize DC United 5-2 at the beginning of pre-season, after which they’ve suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to Sheffield United. Interestingly, three of Betis’ last four games have featured two or more goals in the second half with two of them seeing both teams score after the halftime break (W3, L1). But, Béticos’ recent matches have been short of entertainment, as just two of their last six games produced over 2.5 goals while three have witnessed goals at both ends.
