Parma vs Atalanta 29/07/20

29 July 2020

Atalanta travel to the Stadio Ennio Tardini to take on Parma, looking to post a fourth successive win in their Serie A H2Hs. Each of their previous three wins in such clashes yielded at least a two-goal margin.

A 2-1 away win over Brescia last time out means that all ten of Parma’s previous Serie A matches have seen over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Notably, quick-fire ‘Crusaders’ have opened the scoring in seven of their last nine league outings but have won just two such fixtures (W2, L5). At home in Serie A, all seven of Parma’s previous games have ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W1, D1, L5), with the last five featuring at least three goals and both teams hit the net. Another high-scoring contest is on the cards, as seven of their last ten top-flight H2Hs held here have produced over 2.5 goals, with both teams scoring.

Meanwhile, the visitors take the field after avoiding defeat in 16 league matches in a row (W12, D4), although they’ve played out three straight draws on the road in the build-up to this trip. Also, ‘La Dea’ have yet to lose away from home in Serie A this calendar year (W4, D4), with all but one of those clashes seeing both sides on the scoresheet. Rampant Atalanta also boast the highest scoring ratio on the road, having netted an average of 2.5 goals per Serie A trip. Indeed, they are the only side in Italy to smash a 40-goal barrier away from home (45), with 57.78% (26) of those goals scored arriving in the second half.
