Paris Saint-Germain vs Galatasaray 12/12/19
12 December 2019
Paris Saint-Germain entertain Galatasaray at the Parc des Princes in the final round of the UEFA Champions League (CL) group stage fixtures.
Again huge pre-match favorites, the Parisians will be looking to complete their impressive group stage appearance with another triumph that would be their fifth in six games (W4, D1). Except for a 2-2 away draw with Real Madrid last time out, the hosts have won all four of their remaining Group A matches without conceding a single goal. What’s more, Thomas Tuchel’s men have won nine of ten competitive home outings this term, with a 2-0 loss to Reims being the only exception. Impressively, all of those wins have been accompanied by a clean sheet, while seven saw PSG score over 1.5 match goals. It is highly unlikely that the Ligue 1 giants won’t score here, given that they’ve found the net in 29 successive CL outings, picking up nine wins in their last 11 games in the competition (W8, D2, L1).
As for the visitors, they sit bottom of the section with a record of two draws and three defeats, and nothing but a victory here will propel them to the EL knockout stage. However, the Turkish heavyweights have been by far the weakest attacking side in Europe’s top-tier competition this season, scoring only one goal in five group matches. Furthermore, they have drawn a blank in six consecutive CL trips, failing to hit the net in eight of their last ten CL away fixtures. Also, the Lions have won just one of their last 20 European games (W1, D7, L12) and have suffered six defeats in nine previous trips to France (W1, D2, L6).
