Paris Saint-Germain vs Amiens 20/10/18
20 October 2018
The most dominant French club and the best-attacking side in top-five Europe leagues will face-off against the mid-table Ligue 1 team, with Paris Saint-Germain looking to host Amiens at the Parc des Princes.
Although it is still an early stage of the league, the Red and Blues already cruise towards their second successive Ligue 1 title, as they are the only side to wrap up a maximum of 27 points. With 32 goals bagged after the opening nine fixtures, the Parisians have the best scoring record of all top Europe clubs. The defending champions have notched at least three goals in each of five home matches in the league so far, having kept a clean sheet three times in the process. In addition to Marseille, PSG are the only team whose 80% of home games ended with four or more goals.
Meanwhile, the Unicorns have struggled to keep consistency this season, and with a record of three wins, one draw, and five defeats, they are tied for 13th place. Moreover, they are the only Ligue 1 side that is yet to clinch a victory on the road, having suffered three defeats and played out one draw in the previous four away games. Additionally, with just one goal scored away from the Stade de la Licorne, they are by far the worst-attacking road team in the French top flight. Christophe Pelissier’s players only kept a clean sheet two times this season, while failing to notch a goal three times in the process.
The injuries of Dani Alves, Layvin Kurzawa, Christopher Nkunku, and Lassana Diarra leave Thomas Tuchel with a sizeable headache although he can be more than happy to see Marco Verratti returning to action after few months of absence. As for the visitors, Bongani Zungu, Alexis Blin, Quentin Cornette, and John Mendoza are ruled out by injuries.
