Osasuna will be eager to put an end to their four-game losing run in La Liga (LL) H2Hs with Real Madrid when the two sides lock horns at the Estadio El Sadar this weekend.

The hosts have endured a mixed start to the new calendar year (W1, D2, L1), with three of their four league outings since the turn of 2020 featuring under 2.5 goals. Los Rojillos have established themselves as ‘draw specialists’ this season, with 45.45% (ten) of their 22 league fixtures ending in a stalemate so far (LL’s joint-high). Half of those draws (five) came at home, with three of them yielding the same goalless 0-0 scoreline. However, despite their high draw ratio, the Estadio El Sadar has been a venue of entertainment lately, with five of Osasuna’s last eight LL matches held here saw over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Also, Osasuna’s home action usually sparks into life after the break, with 11 of the 18 LL home goals scored arriving in the second half (61%).

Before succumbing 4-3 to Real Sociedad in their midweek’s Copa del Rey showdown, the visitors were on a stunning 21-game unbeaten run in all competitions (W15, D6). Impressively, 13 of those 21 matches during the abovementioned run had been accompanied by a clean sheet, with 13 seeing Real score over 1.5 goals, too. Zinedine Zidane’s side will, nonetheless, look to stretch their winning away streak to six straight games in all competitions, with four of their previous five road wins producing a margin of two goals or more. Yet, Los Blancos have won just twice in their last four top-flight trips to Osasuna (D2), although they’ve scored 2+ goals on three of those occasions.
