Olympique Lyonnais vs Servette 13/07/19

13 July 2019

Olympique Lyonnais and Servette will face-off at the Stade Pierre Rajon in a friendly meeting that will see the French giants kicking off their pre-season.

An impressive form in the final stage of last season has seen the French heavyweights finish third in the Ligue 1 and reach the Champions League play-off qualifiers. Les Gones have won five of their last six league games (W5, D1), scoring 2+ match goals across all six while keeping a clean sheet four times during the run. Also, all of Lyon’s games over the past few months have provided their fans with entertainment, as nine of their last matches featured over 2.5 goals while seven of them saw both teams score.

Meanwhile, this clash will serve the Swiss side as a first serious test this summer after facing off three domestic teams (W1, L2). Two of those friendlies have featured under 2.5 goals and have not witnessed goals at both ends. Still, Servette’s good run of form in the closing stage of last season has seen them put together five straight wins, scoring over 1.5 match goals in each while keeping one clean sheet though. Similar to their rivals, seven of Servette’s last ten games have produced over 2.5 goals and saw both teams score.
