Numancia come face-to-face with Atletico Madrid for a friendly meeting that will take place at the Estadio Municipal de El Burgo de Osma.

Both sides will officially kick off their pre-seasons here, although the Madrid giants already suffered a 2-1 loss to the Israeli outfit Beitar Jerusalem back in May. Numantinos have barely avoided relegation the last term, having finished 17th in the Segunda Division. Unprolific in the final third, but stubborn at the back, Rojillos have provided their fans with virtually no entertainment in their last four outings (W1, D2, L1). None of those matches have produced over 2.5 goals, with Numancia scoring just two goals across those fixtures.

Meanwhile, Los Colchoneros finished second in La Liga last season, 11 points adrift of bitter rivals Barcelona. Atletico’s disappointing form in the final stage of last campaign has seen them fail to pick up three points in three straight LL outings (D2, L1), with two of those matches producing over 2.5 goals while two seeing both teams score too. Also, six of Atletico’s last nine games have featured under 2.5 goals, with Diego Simeone’s men failing to keep a clean sheet five times in the process. Los Rojiblancos will now look to post their fourth straight win over Numancia in H2Hs, with all of their previous three triumphs saw them beat the Soria-based outfit to nil.
