Norwich City vs Manchester City 15/09/19

15 September 2019

Norwich City and Manchester City will face-off at Carrow Road in quite contrasting circumstances.

The returnees are already stuck in the relegation territory having lost three of their opening four Premier League (PL) fixtures (W1, L3). Before a 2-0 away loss to Newcastle United last time out, the Canaries were regular on the scoresheet, netting a total of five goals in the preceding three league outings. However, Norwich’s inability to keep a clean sheet could come costly here, as they’ve not only struggled to prevent their rivals from scoring, but they’ve allowed over 1.5 match goals three times already. Taking into account their home results from the final stage of last Championship season, six of their previous competitive home games have produced over 3.5 goals, with four of them seeing both teams score at least two.

Aside from a 2-2 home draw with Tottenham Hotspur, the visitors have been ruthless in the league so far (W3, D1). All three of their PL wins have come by a margin of multiple goals, with the reigning holders netting three or more goals in each and restricting their rivals to a maximum of one. The Citizens tend to open the scoring early having bagged the opener inside the opening 25 minutes of each PL outing so far, adding one more before the break on three occasions in the process. Nothing should change now, as they’ve pulled off four wins in their last six competitive visits here (W4, D2), netting three or more goals across all of those triumphs.
