North Korea vs Tajikistan 15/07/19

15 July 2019

North Korea and Tajikistan will face-off at the Arena Stadium for a friendly meeting, which will be their first since 2012.

North Korea go into this encounter off the back of a stunning 5-2 win over India, which has brought their disastrous six-game losing run to a halt. Frustratingly for them, Chollima have conceded four or more goals across all of those six defeats, having failed to find the net four times across those games. As a result, all seven of North Korea’s last outings have featured over 3.5 goals while three of them produced over 5.5 goals. A comfortable fact for Yun Jong-Su is North Korea’s recent record in H2Hs (W2, D1), with none of those meetings featuring over 2.5 goals.

Meanwhile, fresh from back-to-back triumphs over India and Syria, Tajikistan will look to start a winning streak after a dreadful period that has seen them struggle to pick up a victory in six straight games (D2, L4). The Specialsian Lions’ run of poor form has seen them secure three wins in their last ten outings (W3, D2, L5). Interestingly, both of Tajikistan’s last wins have been settled by a comfortable two-goal margin, while all of their previous three defeats saw them struggling to find the net. Just three of the Crowns’ last ten games have featured over 2.5 goals and only three have witnessed goals at both ends too.
