Manchester City vs Leicester City 27/09/20
27 September 2020
Manchester City will be looking to post a fourth consecutive Premier League win over Leicester City when they meet at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.
Manchester City brushed aside Wolverhampton 3-1 on the road in their Premier League curtain-raiser to bring their winning league run to six, last season included. Remarkably, five of those triumphs have seen the ‘Sky Blues’ score over 2.5 goals and win the first half via the identical 2-0 scoreline. The Etihad has been a fortress the City fans have been hoping for this calendar year, as Pep Guardiola’s men have won all but one of their nine Premier League home games since the turn of 2020 (D1). Impressively, six of those eight victories have yielded a clean sheet and a full-time margin of over 1.5 goals. Last season’s Premier League runners-up must be lining up another success after winning all four of their previous top-flight H2Hs held at this stadium.
But, the visitors have got off to a flying start to the new Premier League season, winning both of their opening league clashes via at least a two-goal margin. Particularly lethal after the half-time break, Brendan Rodgers’ men have grabbed six of the seven league goals scored so far in the second half of play. Against the backdrop of scoring at will, the ‘Foxes’ have netted under 1.5 goals in eight of ten Premier League trips this calendar year (W2, D3, L5). Simultaneously, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of those ten encounters. In turn, Leicester failed to complete a single turnaround from seven away league matches in which they conceded the opening goal back in 2019/20 (D2, L5).
