Lyon vs Nimes 20/10/18
20 October 2018
Olympique Lyonnais will host Nimes at the Groupama Stadium, hoping to end a 2-game Ligue 1 winless streak.
Les Gones have started off the season on the wrong foot, registering two defeats and a draw in the opening four league fixtures, but they’ve managed to raise their game over the course of the campaign. A stunning 2-1 away win over Manchester City on the Champions League opening matchday have had a positive impact on Bruno Genesio’s side, who then clinched two consecutive league triumphs over Marseille and Dijon. However, on the eve of the international break, Paris Saint-Germain have demolished the 7-time Ligue 1 champions by five goals to nil leaving them with just 14 points in the opening nine games.
On the other hand, the returnees have opened the season with two straight wins over Angers and Marseille, after which they’ve notably dropped in form. Les Crocodiles have failed to secure a victory in the previous seven games, as they’ve suffered three defeats while being held to four draws in the process. Additionally, Nimes have failed to keep a clean sheet in all five away matches this season, having conceded a total of 11 goals on the road so far.
Amine Gouiri and Kenny Tete are both sidelined by injuries in the home squad, while Umut Bozok won’t be playing for the visitors after picking up an injury on the training ground.
