Lugano vs Inter Milan 14/07/19

14 July 2019

Inter Milan kick off their pre-season at the Cornaredo Stadium as they tackle the Swiss outfit Lugano in now a traditional friendly meeting.

Although unbeaten in their last seven outings, the Swiss side has registered just three wins across that period (W3, D4), with all four of those stalemates seeing both teams score. Fabio Celestini’s players have been scoring on a regular basis over the past few months, having found the net in 12 of their last 13 games, bagging 2+ match goals six times though. But, Lugano’s inability to keep a clean sheet has seen them concede at least one goal on nine occasions across the same period.

Meanwhile, the Serie A giants will now look to post their third straight win over Lugano, with both of their previous successes coming in friendly encounters. It will be Inter’s first game in a pre-season, as they hope to maintain a good run of form that spreads since early April (W4, D4, L1). Notably, all four of those triumphs have seen the Nerazzurri score over 1.5 goals per match while all of the stalemates featured under 2.5 goals. Inter’s stubborn defending has seen them concede over 1.5 goals per match only once in their last ten outings, keeping a blank slate four times in the remaining nine games.
