Los Angeles FC vs Nashville SC
BMO Stadium forms the backdrop for a tasty-looking Major League Soccer showdown between Los Angeles FC and Nashville SC.
Los Angeles got their new MLS campaign off to a flying start, beating Seattle Sounders 2-1 at home. However, things have since gone sideways for Steve Cherundolo’s side, as they’ve only claimed one point from their last three league games (D1, L2). Dropping points is not the only issue Cherundolo has to deal with, considering his men ominously failed to get on the scoresheet in all three fixtures despite boasting a star-studded attack. All eyes will be on standout forward Denis Bouanga as Los Angeles endeavors to tip an evenly-balanced H2H scale (W1, D1, L1) into their favor. But entertainment could be at a premium in this fixture, considering the last two meetings between Los Angeles and Nashville have featured three goals.
Meanwhile, Nashville’s fifth MLS campaign began with a whimper rather than a bang, with Gary Smith’s side drawing their opening three league matches, including two on home turf against the New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy. However, they got back on track in the last round, squeaking past Charlotte 2-1 at home, largely thanks to a fast start, which saw them take a two-goal lead in the first 40 minutes. The visitors will hope for another similar performance as they take this trip winless on their last four MLS travels (D3, L1). But as they averaged just 0.5 goals per game in that run, visiting fans would be forgiven for awaiting this contest with trepidation.
