Llapi vs Wisla Krakow

Stadiumi Zahir Pajaziti is the venue as Llapi and Wisla Krakow go head-to-head in the return leg of their Europa League qualifying tie.

Llapi’s third attempt to reach a European competition proper was off to a slow start, with the Kosova outfit slumping to a 2-0 first-leg defeat in Krakow. Interestingly, they’ve lost all three continental away games via that same scoreline. Though the picture looks slightly better on home, given they’ve yet to lose, Llapi’s two previous European fixtures on home turf have ended all square, with both teams scoring on each occasion. Their chances of progression are slim, but they can take heart from a decent-looking home form, with the Legends winning three of their last four competitive home outings (L1). The problem is that two of those three victories saw Llapi run out 1-0 victors, while they need to score at least twice here to take this tie to extra time.

On the other hand, lifting the Polish Cup trophy for the fifth time last season gave Wisla Krakow an unlikely chance to feature in European action again despite languishing in the second division of Polish football. Wisla finished 10th in the second tier last term and will hope to snap a three-year struggle outside the top flight this season. Beating Llapi was a decent start to the new campaign for a team that last competed in European football in 2011/12, reaching the Europa League knockout stages that season. But leaving the comforts of their home potentially spells trouble for Wisla, considering they’ve gone winless in their last four competitive away matches (D3, L1 – 90 minutes only). Yet, since they conceded more than once in just one of those four games, their lead should be safe and sound.
