Leicester City vs West Ham United 04/10/20

4 October 2020

High-flying Leicester City welcome West Ham United to the King Power Stadium, looking to post a third consecutive win in their Premier League H2Hs.

It’s been a dream Premier League start for the hosts, who have won all of their opening three league fixtures via at least a two-goal each. As a matter of fact, free-scoring ‘Foxes’ have netted over 2.5 goals in each of those matches, including a 5-2 demolition of Manchester City last time out. Interestingly, Leicester’s top-flight action usually sparks into life after the half-time break, as the majority (83.33%) of their Premier League goals scored so far arrived in the second half of play (10/12). On the flip side, though, Brendan Rodgers’ men have bagged under 1.5 goals in three of their previous four league H2H meetings held at this venue (W2, D1, L1).

On the other hand, the visitors have managed to bounce back from two consecutive league losses, brushing aside Wolverhampton 4-0 at home last time out. However, a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal on Matchday 2 means the ‘Hammers’ have suffered seven losses in ten Premier League trips since the turn of the year (W1, D2, L7). A lack of ruthlessness in front of goals has seen West Ham score one goal or less on seven of those occasions! David Moyes’ men seem very unlikely to improve that record now, as they take on a side they’ve scored under 1.5 goals in three of their last four top-flight H2Hs.
