Lazio vs Bologna 29/01/20

29 February 2020

Lazio and Bologna go head-to-head at the Stadio Olimpico in what promises to be a ‘high-scoring affair’ between the two attacking-minded Serie A (SA) sides.

The hosts are 20 games unbeaten in Italy’s top-tier (W18, D2), having won each of their last three league matches – all via a single-goal margin. Lazio remain one of two sides yet to lose at home this season (W10, D3), with Simone Inzaghi’s men netting more SA goals at their own stadium than any other club (37). Indeed, they’ve scored over 2.5 match goals in eight of their last 11 SA games at this venue, finding the opening goal (if any) on eight occasions, too. With just one point separating them from table-toppers Juventus, the ‘Biancocelesti’ will have to be laser-focused when they take on a side they’ve failed to beat in all three of their previous top-flight home H2Hs (D3).

Meanwhile, the Greyhounds travel to the venue where they’ve failed to walk away with three points in six consecutive top-flight visits (D3, L3), desperate to cut down a two-point gap on sixth-placed Napoli. A challenging task made more daunting by the fact the visitors have not managed a single clean sheet in their last 20 league outings and have shut out their opponent only once in 12 SA road trips so far this campaign. Poor first-half performers, Sinisa Mihajlovic’s players have scored just 40% (eight) of their 20 SA away goals scored before the break. But, even though they’ve shipped the opener in seven of 12 league away games thus far, they ran out winners in three such fixtures (L4).
