Lazio vs AC Milan 26/11/18

26 November 2018

AC Milan face a challenging task of achieving their first triumph against Lazio on the road since 2015, as the clash between the Serie A titans scheduled to take place at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend.

Although they struggle to replicate last year’s performances, the Biancocelesti currently sit fourth in the table, with a narrow 1-point margin over their upcoming rivals. Before a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo in their last Serie A game, Simone Inzaghi’s players have wrapped up seven wins and suffered four losses in the Italian top flight, scoring 18 while conceding 14 goals in the process. The Eagles have won four out of six home meetings this season but have managed just two clean sheets in the run. Meanwhile, the same as Milan, Lazio have failed to find the back of the net twice in the opening 12 league fixtures. Ciro Immobile and his fellow teammates scored an average of 1.50 goals per match, as they’ve bagged a minimum of two goals per game only four times up to this point.

On the other hand, the visitors have endured a turbulent start of the season, as they come into this encounter with three victories in the previous four league clashes. However, the Rossoneri have lost to Juventus just before the international break, which is why they have to avoid another disappointment if looking to keep up the pace with the Champions League promotion rivals. Gennaro Gattuso’s players have been inconsistent on the road ever since a frustrating 3-2 loss to Napoli on the opening matchday. Still, Higuain and Co. won two out of last three matches away from home, including the one against Udinese, which saw Romagnoli scoring a winner in the 95th minute. The 7-time Champions League winners have so far conceded 16 goals in the league, as they’ve only kept a clean sheet once in the opening 12 league games, which puts them on a par with Chievo Verona.
