Koln vs Bologna 27/07/19

27 July 2019

Koln (W4, L1) and Bologna (W4, D1) go head-to-head at Kufstein Arena for a friendly meeting that will see two sides with identical returns from their last five matches trying to stretch their respective runs of good form.

Well ahead of Bologna in their preparations, the German side has so far played out five friendlies in their pre-season. After reaching the Bundesliga promotion as the top-placed team in the 2. Bundesliga, the Billy Goats have put together four wins in their pre-season before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Werder Bremen. Although Alexander Wehrle’s players netted 31 goals and conceded just two across those victories, it is fair to say that they’ve faced the German lower-league outfits in those games. Nonetheless, eight of Koln’s last ten matches have featured over 2.5 goals, with five of them seeing both teams score.

Meanwhile, the Serie A side has maintained an impressive run of form from the end of last season, securing back-to-back wins at the beginning of their preparations. The Greyhounds have scored 14 goals in those two outings to continue a free-scoring form. The Red and Blues have netted 3+ match goals in eight of their last ten games, with 24 of the total 34 goals they’ve scored in that period coming after the halftime break (70.58%). What’s more, seven of those matches have ended in Bologna’s favor, with six of them seeing Bologna beat their rivals by a multiple-goal margin (W7, D2, L1).
