Kashiwa Reysol vs Kashima Antlers 29/08/20

29 August 2020

Kashiwa Reysol welcome Kashima Antlers to the Hitachi Kashiwa Stadium for what promises to be a goal-friendly contest. Three of their last four J1 League H2Hs have produced over 4.5 goals and goals on both ends.

None of Kashiwa’s seven competitive home matches this season has ended in a draw (W4, L3), with five seeing over 2.5 goals and both teams score. A lack of concentration after the half-time break has seen the vast majority (83.33%) of their J1 League home goals conceded arrive in the second half of play (10/12). Indeed, Nelsinho Baptista’s men know how to put up a late show, with five of their six home league fixtures this term featuring at least one goal scored/conceded come on or beyond the 75-minute mark. Another high-scoring affair is on the cards, given three of their last four top-flight H2Hs held at this venue have featured over 3.5 goals and both sides hitting the net (W1, L3).

As for the visitors, a 2-1 comeback away win over Tokyo last time out brought their three-game winless J1 League run to an end (D2, L1), although it now means Antonio Zago’s players have yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this campaign. In fact, they’ve lost five of seven top-flight trips this season, winning the other two. Kashima’s away games have been notably tight, though, with five of their seven league results (wins/losses) yielding a single-goal margin. Additionally, slow-starting ‘Antlers’ have conceded the opening goal in all seven of their J1 League trips so far!
