Juventus vs SPAL 25/11/18

25 November 2018

Juventus and SPAL will face-off at the Allianz Stadium in contrasting circumstances. While the hosts top the table with a 6-point lead over Napoli, the visitors are frantically trying to prevent a further downfall.

As the only unbeaten team in the Italian Serie A, the Bianconeri currently top the table with a record of 11 wins and one draw after the opening 12 league fixtures. The Turin-based giants have secured five victories without conceding a goal, as they’ve only allowed more than one goal per match in the opening matchday triumph over Chievo Verona. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. scored a minimum of two goals 11 times so far, which is the best goalscoring record in the Italian top flight. In the last three matches before the international break, Massimiliano Allegri’s men have outplayed Empoli, Cagliari, and AC Milan, as the ex-Rossoneri boss urges his players to maintain a good form ahead of their Champions League clash with Valencia.

On the other hand, the Biancazzurri have slowed down after a promising start of the season, as they currently sit 15th in the table, with a 4-point lead over the relegation zone based sides. In the previous five Serie A encounters, Leonardo Semplici’s players have suffered three defeats, while playing out one draw and beating Roma in the process. Only three teams shipped more goals than Gli Spallini this campaign in spite of the fact they’ve managed to keep a clean sheet four times in the opening 12 league fixtures. But, SPAL’s main problem this year relates to their uninspiring performances in the final third. The visitors have failed to find the back of the net four times so far, scoring more than one goal per match on just three occasions.
