Juventus vs Roma 02/08/20

02 August 2020

Rocked by a shocking 2-0 away loss to Cagliari last time out, Juventus will be looking to bounce back when they take on Roma at the Allianz Stadium in the Serie A season finale this weekend.

Ten of their last 12 top-flight H2Hs have ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W7, D2, L3), with eight of them featuring under 2.5 goals. But, the reigning champions have been relentless against Roma in Turin lately, winning all eight of their previous Serie A clashes here, the last four via the identical 1-0 scoreline, though. Based on that success, the ‘Bianconeri’ are hopeful to finish the season as the only side to avoid defeat on home turf (W16, D2). Although Juventus boast only the division’s third-best goalscoring record at home (45), no team has managed to score over 1.5 goals in more home matches than Maurizio Sarri’s crew (17/18).

Unbeaten in seven league fixtures (W6, D1), the visitors have been a fun side to watch recently. Indeed, all eight of their previous Serie A outings have produced over 2.5 goals, with seven seeing both teams on the scoresheet. Away from home in Serie A, the ‘Giallorossi’ have gone from back-to-back defeats to three consecutive wins, with five of those results (wins/losses) seeing the winner on the day score over 1.5 second-half goals. In turn, Roma’s away action usually sparks into life after the break, as 60.66% (37) of the 61 league goals scored/conceded on the road this term arrived in the second half of play. Interestingly, none of Roma’s seven Serie A away games in which they shipped the opening goal ended in a draw (W3, L4).
