Juventus vs Parma 20/01/20

20 January 2020

Juventus will entertain Parma at the Allianz Stadium this weekend, going after their second straight victory in the Serie A (SA) H2Hs.

The hosts are enjoying a pretty successful start to 2020, winning all three of their competitive games since the turn of the year, with two of those triumphs coming via the identical 4-0 scoreline. Also, the reigning holders have reclaimed the top-spot after putting together four league wins and now hold a two-point lead over second-placed Inter Milan. Maurizio Sarri’s men have been a force to be reckoned with when at home this season. Indeed, they’ve won eight of nine SA home fixtures, with a shock 2-2 draw with Sassuolo the only exception. Additionally, eight of those nine games have seen Juventus open the scoring, with five of their eight wins in that period coming via a narrow one-goal margin. Another success is definitely on the cards, as the ‘Bianconeri’ have won four of their previous five SA home H2Hs with Parma (D1), scoring over 1.5 goals across all of those meetings.

Meanwhile, the visitors have picked up a little bit of everything in their last three league outings (W1, D1, L1), with two of those fixtures featuring under 2.5 goals. On the contrary, 55% of Parma’s SA away games this season have produced over 2.5 goals, with the ‘Crusaders’ securing three wins in the process (W3, D3, L3). But, all three of Parma’s road victories have come against the clubs sitting in the bottom half of the table ahead of this round, with two of their three away losses seeing them collapse against the sides from the upper half of the table, via multiple-goal margins. Goals in the final 15 minutes of play should be discarded here, considering just two of Parma’s nine SA away fixtures have seen a goal coming in that interval.
