Juventus vs AC Milan 13/06/20

13 June 2020

After playing out a 1-1 draw in Lombardy, Juventus and AC Milan will lock horns in the return leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final tie at the Allianz Stadium this weekend.

The hosts had won six of their last ten matches in all competitions before the coronavirus pandemic halted proceedings (D1, L3), with five of their nine results (win/loss) during that period yielding a single-goal margin. In turn, each of Juventus’ four previous competitive H2H meetings with Milan has ended separating the sides by under 1.5 goals (W3, D1), with three of them featuring under 2.5 total goals. Yet, the reigning Serie A title holders have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with when at home in 2020, picking up seven victories in as many home fixtures since the turn of the year. Impressively, while all seven of those triumphs witnessed Juventus score over 1.5 goals, five have seen them keep a clean sheet.

On the other hand, the visitors were struggling for form and consistency before the pandemic put the season on hold, securing just a single win in their six competitive games (D3, L2). For Milan, goals have been in short supply since the calendar flipped. They’ve netted under 1.5 goals in seven of 12 matches in all competitions since the turn of the year, with 61.11% (11) of their total 18 goals scored across those fixtures (90 minutes only) coming in the first half of play. Away from home, just one of Milan’s 13 games has ended in a draw (W6, L6), although nine of those 12 results have produced a narrow one-goal margin.
