Jeonbuk Motors vs Gangwon 30/08/20
30 August 2020
Jeonbuk Motors will be looking to maintain an unbeaten start to their K League 1 season when they tackle Gangwon at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium this weekend.
The hosts take the field after putting together five straight league victories, all of which saw them score over 1.5 goals. What’s more, Jeonbuk remain the only K League 1 side yet to taste defeat on home tuft (W7, D1), with five of those seven wins yielded a single-goal margin and five seeing ‘Warriors’ keep a clean sheet. Particularly dangerous after the half-time break, José Morais’ men have notched 78.57% (11) of the 14 home league goals in the second half of play. Indeed, they’ve found the net at least once in three of eight K League 1 home fixtures, while preventing their opponent from scoring in that same timeframe.
Meanwhile, the visitors are winless in six consecutive league outings (D4, L2), drawing a blank on four of those occasions. Additionally, a lack of ruthlessness in the attacking third has seen Gangwon score under 1.5 goals in five of their last six top-flight trips (D2, L4), which has been true in three of their previous four K League 1 away H2Hs (W1, L3). In fact, ‘Kodiaks’ have scored an average of 0.77 goals per K League 1 away game, which makes them the division’s fourth-worst attacking side. Another potential worry for Gangwon is that they’ve conceded over 1.5 goals in seven of their last nine trips in all competitions.
