Internazionale vs Fiorentina 23/07/20
23 July 2020
Internazionale and Fiorentina will lock horns at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this midweek in an exciting Serie A contest. Notably, nine of their last ten competitive H2Hs have featured both teams scoring, with seven of them producing over 2.5 goals, too.
The hosts have racked up a four-game unbeaten Serie A run going into this round (W2, D2), with each of those fixtures featuring at least one first-half goal and over 3.5 goals in total. Also, the ‘Nerazzurri’ have been a fun team to watch at home since the resumption of football in June, as four of their five Serie A home games post restart have seen over 2.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet (W3, D1, L1). Despite winning only a half (four) of their eight league home matches this calendar year (D3, L1), Antonio Conte’s men are confident of sealing three points now as they take on a side they’ve beaten in three of their last top-flight home H2Hs.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina have shipped at least two goals in each of their previous four competitive trips to Inter (L4), which has been true in all three of their Serie A trips to the current top-four sides this season (D1, L2). But, the visitors have won three of their last four league away matches in which they failed to keep a clean sheet (L1). Notably, five of Fiorentina’s previous six Serie A trips have featured over 2.5 goals, with nine of 11 goals they scored across those meetings coming in the second half of play. Giuseppe Iachini, however, has to be concerned about his team’s lack of concentration after the break that has led to the ‘Viola’ concede 69.57% (16) of the 23 Serie A away goals allowed in the second 45 minutes.
